1 Full Day, face-to-face training (9:00am - 4:00pm)

Nationally recognised training that will equip you with the skills and knowledge to recognise and manage a casualty who is unconscious and not breathing.

During the full day training session at our fully equipped simulated facility the following topics will be covered:

• Recognise an emergency situation.
• Responding to an emergency situation.
• Identify, assess and minimise immediate hazards to health and safety of self and others using the DRSABC method.
• Assess the casualty and recognise the need for Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Seek assistance from emergency response services.
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with ARC guidelines on Adult, child and infant mannequins.
• Display respectful behaviour towards casualty.
• Operate automated external defibrillator (AED) according to manufacturer’s instructions.
• Accurately convey incident details to emergency response services.
• Report details of incident to workplace supervisor as appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality of records and information in line with statutory and/or organisational policies.

This qualification needs to be updated annually

• Demonstrate a satisfactory level of Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) abilities.
